On 1-29-24, the Washington Post pinned an Opinion, "A federal judge would like a word about Jan. 6", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

Judge Lambert's words should be posted on every social media outlet in this country as well as billboards on every roadway. Shame on those misled MAGA cult feeders who recite no epitaph worthy of claim to support our country, but only support the control and rule of the demagogue Trump.

I see no reason why Democrat aligned office seekers should hesitate from this day forth to always use Judge Lambert's words in their public speeches.

    On 1-26-24, Washington Post Columnist Jennifer Rubin penned an Opinion that: "Donald Trump is overrated", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

A recent WAPO commentor hit the nail on the head when they said...

"Trump is "dementia looping". He has created a set of canned responses to mask his inability to recall information. He calls people names because he can no longer recall their actual names. He repeats over and over because he loses track of his own thoughts. Trump is an entitled ignorant rapist, and his main reason for seeking the presidency is to stay out of jail for being an insurrectionist."

All that and what Ms. Rubin has said here.

    On 1-26-24, the Washington Post penned an Analysis: "The GOP’s awkward 2016 flip-flops on Trump make a comeback in 2024", and on the date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus: 

Make no mistake about it folks, the ethics of personal morality, or put more succinctly knowing right from wrong, is not an inventory item for politicians who occupy public office on the backs of the more illustrious members of their party.

They exist to foment the image of power in unity while having no redeeming qualities of governance proficiency. In short, they are useless drones in the hive society of politics. This essay has just introduced several of them.

    On 1-17-24, the Washington Post penned the article: "Trump lawyers say document shows he kept ‘Q’ clearance for nuclear secrets", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus: 

This is nothing but hogwash. The President may be afforded access to documents of a classified nature in performance of his duties but, the reality of our classified document system's vetting requirements would establish that citizen Trump would never have even passed the most basic requirements for access or possession to those documents as a regular public servant. And that has been reported time and again since his occupation of the office.

I mean, his record as a fraudulent businessman was enough to disqualify him, the psychological side would have probably flagged him as the societal threat he's turned out to be.

     On 1-9-24, the Washington Post penned an Opinion by Jennifer Rubin that: "The question of Trump’s corruption should be front and center", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

Of course, Trump must profit from gifting bribes by selling off his name and the office he occupied at the expense of taxpayers. How else could a businessman with a long and total record of failures survive? How else could his failures of everything but collecting rent payments even matter when he had such a record of stiffing creditors and hiding behind bankruptcies define such a clown.

But hey, he knows how to tell you how easy it is to be loved as one of us when you put on makeup, right?

     On 1-9-24, the Washington Post penned an Analysis for "The consequences of Trump’s immunity court case", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

I don't get how this failed President can even hint at immunity for acts that constitute malfeasance of office. His office is little but public service in a governmental office. His responsibilities as an administrator for government business if no greater than any other civil servant. And if any other serving civil servant committed similar acts their tenure would be subject to administrative judication.

It's nothing but a stalling tactic to deflect Trump's fear of making the record public of his miserable and illegal actions through witness testimony. While he continues to play the victim card for donations from his flock to absorb the costs of maintaining his corps of delaying legal staff.

It is also not in the public's interest for the Judiciary to retreat in trepidation from a mere civil servant. Particularly one who has lost every election by a majority vote of that public.

    On 1-8-24, the Seattle Times penned an article of: "From a state clam to car tab discounts, lawmakers’ agenda takes shape" and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus: 

The actual news is that the state is financially flush with money right now and the host of proposed bills does nothing but propose more use of those excess funds. Meanwhile, there are left over Sur taxes still in effect that have created that money flush. Like that extra tax on alcohol sales, (over and above the regular sales tax), that remains in place.

Then legislators decided to add the state's sales tax to your electrical utility bill each month and that remains in place even though, (while exempting our sales tax for necessary food), you can't very well survive without electricity. And not only that, but there is something called a "State Privilege Tax" of 2.14% on my monthly electric bill and I've no clue what that's about?

And probably, there isn't enough space or interest to cover all the other extraordinary taxes created by our legislators that were used to by-pass the state's designated revenue source, our State Sales Tax. You see Legislators don't want to touch that albatross. By talk of raising the rate of Sales tax they commit political suicide, right? So, they continue to nickel and dime us via the Sur tax route. And don't think that isn't a bi-partisan action.

 

MY TAKE ON THE JANUARY 6^TH INSURRECTION

 The inexcusable lack of a full-court press by federal and civil authority to overwhelm those who choose to make a concerted attempt to overthrow a constituted act of Congress remains the stain on our countries centralized government under the Trump administration.  The kind of act that last usurped our government to cause a Civil War.     

 The other inexcusable fact is that a portion of our citizens are actively supporting that movement as a show of faith for returning a former President who has a spoken plan for what?  A plan for being installed as a deity with fascists designs for serving an ability to rule the country and punish those in his disfavor?  

 Make no mistake about how you view the future of this country because it is clear those of Trump's ilk have no humanitarian values in their motives for power.  And your loyalty will not be well spent or rewarded by the type of governance and the social freedoms or equality you have come to expect from governance to now.  Or have a governance based on the election of those who would represent the strength and needs of the governed.  Nay, it will likely be homage to the rulers who will use the powers to benefit themselves before the governed.  

 And wasn't that exactly the type of once untenable governance that was behind our reasons for a "Declaration of Independence" to form a more perfect union and create a democratic republic governed by a document of Constitution law?   A government which in its 235^th year since that Constitution has created a national history of accomplishment and opportunity with stability and safety from interference from our rights to equality of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.  Be warned of those you want to give back the power to become a party with ruling intents, not governing intents.  It is most certainly not what we are about. 

     On 1-5-24, the Washington Post penned an Opinion by Jennifer Rubin: "You can bet on the Supreme Court’s abject partisanship", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus: 

"To predict the behavior of ordinary people in advance, you only have to assume that they will always try to escape a disagreeable situation with the smallest possible expenditure of intelligence."

You have to consider, Ms. Rubin, that these words of Friedrich Nietzsche may give some insight on the SCOTUS theories you've presented.

As to the requirement of court conviction of insurrection being required, it's pure hogwash. The Constitution doesn't require it in the 14th amendment and frankly there can be no denying what has been published to now as factually representing Trump's actions to promote a coup de tat, including the fact that he tried to wrest control of his vehicle from the Secret Service to "join his people at the Capital."

Trump's many opportunities to provide testimony on his behalf were already offered and passed. His disrespect for the institution of law is the hardiest evidence known to now showing his utter disrespect of this country and its Constituted principals.

     On 12-29-23, the Washington Post penned an article to: "Read the Maine decision to remove Trump from the 2024 primary ballot".  The Enlightened Prisoner read the article and responded thus:

 (In quoting Secretary Bellows from her written decision:) "I do not reach this conclusion lightly. Democracy is sacred, and the highest court of this State has repeatedly recognized that “no right is more precious in a free country than that of having a voice in the election of those who make the laws under which, as good citizens, we must live.”

Maine's Secretary of State, Shenna Bellows has demonstrated in her decision a profound respect for our country's premise, a nation of laws, not men. Her documented decision is a thing of pure patriotism.
