On 8-15-24, the Washington Post penned an article that: "Trump adds five new staffers, including Corey Lewandowski", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

(In this article, Trump says) (He) doesn’t need to change his own style or strategy, telling reporters that he is “entitled to personal attacks” on Vice President Kamala Harris.

But but all he does is attack. He avoids speaking directly to questions about his own qualifications concerning health, education, or sordid lifestyle. So, that's his strategy, to hide the side of him that would qualify his Presidential credentials? 

What kind of people would support such a jerk? If that isn't an example of weird campaigning, then we're on the spot for taking a chance by playing Russian roulette with a fully loaded revolver.

     On 8-8-24, the Washington Post penned an article that: "Trump to hold news conference as he looks to grab attention back from Harris", and the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

Our former President, current convicted Felon, and notoriously self-centered ner-do-well, (that means lazy and irresponsible), will as usual show up to bluster, brag and lie, then walk off without taking any serious questions about accountability for what he says or does. Did I miss anything about his constant public relations plan?

      On 8-5-24, the Washington Post penned the Opinion: "Does Trump even want to win?", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

I believe the FBI is charged with investigation and prosecution of internal threats to our federal government. I believe every State Constitution also provides for investigation and prosecution of any threats that violate their constituted governments.

I believe that their various legal departments had best research and prepare advance warnings of the consequences to those who would incite or take actions that would interfere with any state or federal voting process now.

I believe the January 6th insurrection is warning enough that an element of our society has expressed an irresponsible attitude for voting that does not go the way they desire and would express irrational and aberrant behavior instead of accepting a national consensus.

Let's be better prepared this time instead of the chaotic abandonment of effective police action last time which has resulted in so much investigation and courtroom preparation expense.

    On 8-3-24, the Washington Post penned an Analysis that: "Senate Republicans forgot Trump’s recklessness. It’s back to haunt them."  And on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

And lest we forget, Trump's acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention droned on for 92 minutes of self-pity, (the longest acceptance speech in national convention history), and proved only that Trump will always be Trump.

Trump has little hope or chance of finding the mentality or the work energy necessary for presidential challenges. Hell, his former aides have already told us he's incapable of the reading or hearing comprehension of analysis reports that are necessary for rational and reasoned judgement.

     On 7-31-24, the Enlightened Prisoner made the following response to a Washington Post article's comment.

 "It is said that if someone is able to make you believe the absurd, they can make you believe anything. And Trump is as absurd as they come."

      On 7-31-24, the Washington Post penned an article about Trump's appearance before the black journalist conference in Chicago as: "Trump continues Black voter push but faces new challenge with Harris", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

Well, the real Trump just stood up and showed you what he is, really. A most unqualified presidential candidate that lacks moral and intellectual character and is unable to truthfully excuse himself from having the most repugnant personality traits ever shown by a political candidate, for any office.

     On 7-24-24, the Washington Post penned an Opinion: "It’s necessary to tame the national debt. And surprisingly doable", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

I've always considered our "check the box" Federal Income Tax annual form that allows taxpayers to designate a dollar amount for the Presidential campaign fund to be a lost cause. I continue to think that the "Citizens United" decision by our Supreme Court was a gawd-awful decision that makes this seem like a travesty to those of us who want better campaign finance rules but are frustrated by seeing our Congressional representatives doing so little.  

Why not consider making that designation box apply to the US Treasury for use in reducing our national debt? Or even be able to designate any portion of your tax refund to retiring the debt and have it applied as a non-profit contribution credit?  Citizens would certainly have a better feeling for reducing the debt than competing with "Citizen (???) United" corporations that contribute those big bucks to candidates. Besides it would give them the feeling they were doing more for the financial state of the nation than the insufficient efforts being shown by their Congressional elected officials.

    On 7-22-24, the Washington Post penned an article that: "Harris won’t preside over Netanyahu’s speech to Congress", and on the date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

There's no protocol issue here. Any foreign government representative who is merely addressing the political opportunity (and photo op) of a Congressional gathering takes their chances on who gives a damn.

    On 7-19-24, the Washington Post penned an Opinion "The old Trump opened the door for Democrats to defeat the new Trump", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus: 

Candidate Trump went off teleprompter. Just like he goes off-line on everything. The man hasn't got an ounce of brain on how to manage this country and proves it every time he speaks. He's a flim-flam carnival barker who will sell you a magic potion of absurdities. Don't forget how he feathered his own nest the last time he stole an election and had the keys to the Treasury.

"If I were to run, I'd run as a Republican. They're the dumbest group of voters in the country. They believe anything on Fox News. I could lie, and they'd still eat it up. I bet my numbers would be terrific".  (Quoting a comment made by Donald J. Trump in an interview with People magazine in 1998)
