On 1-12-26, the Washington Post penned an article that: "Trump is trying to change how the midterm elections are conducted", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

Over 30 civil suits filed by Republican aligned groups were considered by our 3rd Branch of Government, (the Judiciary), after voting was certified in the 2020 presidential election. They all claimed that some form of illegality was involved to cause Trump's defeat. Not one of them was found to have merit. Yet here comes another election and the Republican MEGA radicals are already in full court press to try again at subverting election rules or standards to influence the mid-term elections. Why? Because Dear Leader is in chronic fear of the accountability that a Democratic Congressional majority will use to hold him up to the light.

In the 2024 presidential election 89 million, (or roughly 36%), of US registered voters failed to cast votes. Trump's bully tactics are at work hopefully to keep those numbers even higher. Come on folks, it's time to say this is not the way we want the country run.

On 1-11-26, the Washington Post penned an article that: "More federal agents headed for Minneapolis as finger pointing over shooting continues, and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

"No people on earth can be held, as a people, to be an enemy, for all humanity shares the common hunger for peace, fellowship and justice." Dwight D. Eisenhower (former 5 Star General of the Army and a Republican President who served 2 terms.)

On 1-7-26, after a woman in Minneapolis was shot and killed in the car by an ICE officer and in the aftermath, this was our President's response to the incident.  To which the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

“We need to stand by and protect our Law Enforcement Officers from this Radical Left Movement of Violence and Hate!”  (This was taken from a Truth Social post by President Donald Trump)
Ironic isn't it.  The man who by action and word drove the scenario that resulted in the insurrection at the capital on Jan. 6th, 2021.  The same guy who implied to the Radical Right Movement of Violence and Hate that his Vice President and the House Speaker were fair targets for causing his defeat by a rigged election.  The same guy who went to a private room to watch the happenings on TV and ignore pleas to quiet the crowd or get more help for the overwhelmed Capital Police.

on 1-4-26, Washington Post columnist George Will penned the opinion "Trump goes monster-hunting, untainted by a whiff of legality" and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

As Bishop Joseph Butler (1692-1752) said, “Everything is what it is, and not another thing.” Narcotics trafficking is a serious crime. It is not a terrorist activity. Neither is the "self-poisoning” of Americans who ingest drugs.  (Quotes the article)
And so it goes, still another misrepresentation by our President of the world we live within.

On 12-28-25, a comment on an Enlightened Prisoner comment claimed the 40 years high of inflation was the result of our last presidential administration and caused the Enlightened Prisoner to respond thus:

If you must wonder why, recall that the powers of that previous administration (and several before) were confounded of purpose by the constraints of Congressional indolence to express power instead of workable compromise. And that phenomenon continues which brought us to the era of Executive Order governance that overwhelms our Judicial Branch trying to find compromise.

On 12-20-25, a fed-up Enlightened Prisoner wrote thus:

I have lived long enough to know that no President in that time, (starting with Dwight Eisenhower), has used the public platform afforded them to hurl abusive hate speech at fellow citizens and other world societies.  The brutish and immature personality of Donald Trump is little but a connived method to cover his inadequacies and criminal conduct.  He has thoroughly soiled the dignity of the office of President that true Americans hold in high esteem.  His disregard for the adopted Constitutional governance of this country must have consequences.  The path being taken by our Supreme Court must recognize their obligation to enforce the rule of law and not abide the whims of a power-hungry despot.

On 12-17-25, the Washington Post penned an article that: "Jack Smith defends his cases against Trump on Capitol Hill", (in a closed session with the Congressional committee after they refused an open session as Jack Smith had requested), and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

The lack of transparency by the Trump Administration and Republican Leadership in Congress is becoming quite a statement of concern. They seem intent on treating the public with the falsehood that they would not properly comprehend what it was all about. I'd call BS on that.

On 12-18-25, the Washington Post penned an article about the President's hastily called prime time speech last night as: "Trump attempts domestic reset with White House address Wednesday evening", and the Enlightened Prisoner responded:

Oh damn, I was hopeful it was a resignation speech!

On 12-14-25, the Washington Post penned an article that MAGA types were finding reason to check out from President Trump's circle of supporters, and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

What'd you expect? There's nothing more boring that having a narcissist President whose incapable of honest and informative conversation in the room.

On 12/9/25, the Washington Post penned an article that: "GOP lawmakers wary of Trump escalating beyond boat strikes in Venezuela", and on that date the Enlightened Prisoner responded thus:

Trump has removed JAG Military's legal arm, the corps of Inspector Generals, the Justice Dept ethical investigators, and Congressional oversight committees are under Republican leadership.
Those are the responsible agents of the electorate for providing evaluation and accountability of the Executive Branch. Trump is operating as a rogue is charge and of course is trying to remove any investigative efforts by our media. These actions are costing us millions and millions of taxpayer dollars and for what?
They are doing nothing but feeding his self-serving agenda for removal of Executive Branch accountability for actions that are clearly intended to install him in supreme leadership. We have many politicians who can do a more responsible job for us. Trump must be stopped.
We have fewer and fewer ways to do that except an overwhelming electorate vote next year to remove all those of his Congressional support.
